Dr Basil Singer
Basil has a background in physics and engineering and a PhD in Quantum Chaos ("...smashing the shit out of cold atoms using lasers"). He is now Managing Director of a company that design and manufacture robots that are sold worldwide to aid genetic and cancer research. He is also Managing Director of a new product design startup and is in the 2010 Who's Who of Britain's Business Elite.
Basil has been presenting science shows on television for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, PBS, Discovery and Discovery Science since 2003. In his latest program (Exodus Earth - Discovery Science) Dr. Singer subjects himself to extreme temperatures; tests new survival technologies designed to keep humans alive in harsh environments; suffers the rigors of travel in zero gravity; and explores ideas for new human habitats in the sky.
Basil does a lot of kitesurfing, he surfs, paraglides, snowboards and plays loads of music. Until recently he looked like a long-haired hippy with a trucker-tash but a pair of clippers has chiseled his appearance.
Basil is currently working with the BBC on a new business series for BBC2.
