Duncan James

Duncan James

From an early age, music and theatre has played a central role in Duncan's life often travelling to London's West End with his mother.

Duncan was born an entertainer, starring in school productions and also working at Haven holiday camp -where he met his soon to be bandmates, Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Anthony Costa. Blue the pop group was born, and the band immediately signed to Innocent Records.

Blue exploded on to the scene in May 2001 and together the boys amassed huge commercial success, racking up 40 No. 1 singles worldwide, 3 No.1 UK albums and sales of over 13 million records.

In 2005 the guys decided to take a break from the band to pursue other interests Duncan saw this as the perfect opportunity to pursue his interest in broadening his experience within the entertainment industry.

Duncan was thrilled to be offered the part of Billy Flynn in the hit stage musical Chicago, which he starred in during summer 07, reprising the role for an additional 10 week run from December to February 08.

In addition to pursuing his music talents, Duncan became a familiar face on television and worked as a presenter on Soapstar Superstar, Capital FM's Party in the Park, City Hospital, T4, The Clothes Show and GMTV's Entertainment Today. He was also thrilled to be asked to compete in ITV's Dancing on Ice where he became a finalist and participated in the following sell out tour in arenas across the UK.

As well as presenting and musical theatre opportunities Duncan has made his television comedic acting debut in "Plus One" for Channel 4. He played a tongue in cheek characterization of his Blue persona, and the series was acclaimed by both critics and the public.

Duncan is currently starring in the west end in the musical stage show, Legally Blonde, which has enjoyed huge success and critical acclaim.

He will soon be seen presenting the exciting new gameshow series "Scream if You Know the Answer" on Watch in 2010.
