Nemone

Graduating from Manchester University in Psychology, Nemone worked as a research assistant in several psychiatric wards before working her way on air at the then Kiss 102 in Manchester. Her rise to the nation's favourite was swift through the nightly entertainment show The Word, The G Spot phone in show, Morning's on Galaxy and then in 2000 she landed the Weekend Breakfast Show's on Radio 1.

She spent five years at Radio 1 hosting various shows from Breakfast through to Drivetime and has hosted a number of seminal events such as its Brit Awards coverage and the Mercury Music Awards. In March 2003 Nemone went to Africa with Comic Relief to record a series of reports for the station. She also traversed the UK introducing the Summer Events with audiences in excess of 100,000 and has broadcast live from the FA Cup Final, the Commonwealth Games and Glastonbury - even co-hosting with one of her heroes the late John Peel.

She has since carved out a central role at BBC 6 Music - which she considers her spiritual home musically. Here she presented the daily lunchtime show for four years, and has turned her hand to presenting weekend breakfast.

Throughout her career Nemone has presented on BBC TV using her sporting credentials to the full - fronting Grandstand's coverage from the X Games in Barcelona and Ski Sunday in Italy. And in 2004 she made her own documentary My Big Fat Greek Olympic Dream for BBC3.

Nemone competed nationally for Greater Manchester in the 400m and in 1999 she was Greater Manchester Champion. Since filming and interviewing the world's best snowboarder Shaun White, when he was just starting out, she has since become a fully fledged rider herself. Not one to rest too long, she has competed in Triathlons in London (where she was 12th highest placed woman) and Blenheim , before briefly consigning her trainers to the bottom of the wardrobe to have her daughter and last baby boy.

In 2010 Nemone fronted BBC1 Saturday night entertainment show 101 Ways to Leave A Gameshow with Steve Jones, pitting the British public against each other in a test of general knowledge and an appetite for extreme experiences. In 2012 she has hosted the Music Producers Guild Awards, the behind the scenes Oscars of the music industry, at Cafe De Paris in London and presented coverage from the Critic's Circle Awards at the BFI in London.
