Richard Johnson

He has presented Full on Food for BBC2, reporting on everything from the birthplace of coffee to the rise of the organics business, and Kill It, Cook, It, Eat It for BBC3, which explored the role of meat in our diet. He was also the supertaster that judged the food on ITV’s Taste the Nation, and regularly contributes to the Food Programme on Radio 4.
Richard is also an award-winning journalist. Since completing a History degree, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism, he has enjoyed a successful and varied career. His journalism regurlarly appears in the Sunday Times, The Telegraph and The Guardian, covering both eating and drinking.
Richard has also been working as consultant for Trudie Styler and Sting on their new Lake House Table Range.
Richard’s passion is sampling and enjoying the food that he loves in a relaxed environment. This combined with his experiences of food in other cultures led him to launch the British Street Food Awards 2010. He believes everyone should have access to good, cheap, local food, and that the revolution of British Street Food has been a long time coming. The awards recognised the best of 100,000 mobilers who sell their wares on our streets. www.britishstreetfood.co.uk
