Tom Fortes Mayer
As well as being a social entrepreneur and founder of the FreeMind project charity, Tom is the pioneer of accelerated therapy, which combines modern hypnosis techniques with musical technology to create an original and effective approach to mental health, happiness and well being. His technique challenges existing ideas about therapy and well-being. He helps people to create lasting change in minutes and hours instead of months and years in way that is exciting, engaging and enjoyable.
Through this Tom has enjoyed great success in private practice, working with celebrities and high achieving performers in the world of business and sport. Tom is now excited about inspiring individuals to discover how powerful and practical these techniques can be for everyone. His contagious enthusiasm about the power of the human mind evokes people to discover the potential that resides in us all. He believes passionately that we all should learn about psychological awareness and emotional intelligence, which is how the FreeMind project came to be.
The success of these unconditional techniques combined with Tom's playful delivery style, has led him to presenting all over the world in various environments, from anti-corruption training in Nigeria to emotional intelligence training in women's prisons.
Tom has also created flagship, free parties called weareOne, that are designed to inspire people to bring more love to life. The first of these was held in Brazil, with another party planned in Paris.
His work means he has been involved with a variety of public bodies, including BBC Radio 1, the NHS, Co Op and The British Heart Foundation. As a member of the European social funded ‘Adjust the Balance', Tom has been responsible for designing and testing state of the art, innovative life change tool kits and experiences, created to help people without the need of an expensive therapist.
Tom is a regular contributor to Radio 5 Live, local radio and press, as well as giving regular keynote and motivational addresses at conferences for various private, public and social bodies. He has worked with several television companies, developing programmes around therapy and social development.
