John Cleese rose to fame with the comedy group Monty Python, which he cofounded alongside Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Graham Chapman.  Together, they wrote and starred in the Monty Python films, which include Monty Python and the Holy GrailLife of Brian and The Meaning of Life.  In the mid-70s, Cleese co-wrote and starred in Fawlty Towers; he won a Best Entertainment Performance BAFTA for playing Basil Fawlty.  More recently, Cleese has done a number of world tours, and he has continually shown support for charitable organisations, including Amnesty International.
