Alessandra Gonnella

Alessandra is a director and writer, born and raised in and around Venice, Italy.

She moved to London at 19 to study filmmaking and directing at MET Film School and specialized at National Film and Television School.

Her BA graduation film Profumo de Venezhia was screened at Venice Film Festival in 2016, a period drama inspired by true Resistance events, spoken in the Venetian language, which is now available on Amazon Prime Video US, UK, Germany and Japan.

Her latest short film A Cup Of Coffee With Marilyn was presented at Cannes Film Festival in 2019 and premiered at the Rome Film Festival in October in the Short Films Competition. It then went on to receive nominations and prizes for several other film festivals, including the prestigious Nastro D’Argento (Silver Ribbon) award for best fiction short film by the Italian Union of Journalists and Film Critics (SNGCI). The short is now available on Amazon Prime UK/US and on Italian Rai Cinema Channel.

Alessandra is in development with an international TV series with RedString Pictures and Minerva Pictures on the young Oriana Fallaci for ViacomCBS, that also awarded her for best TV Drama Pitch at MIA Market in Rome 2020.
Moreover she’s in development with her debut Italian drama feature film with Minerva Pictures and co writing a feature film for Clement SRL about the National Italian Female Football team.
