Samantha Harrie

Originally from the West Midlands, Samantha is a director working across film and television. She started out as a fine artist until the storytelling bug led her into making films. She has made award winning short films including Breathe and Copier, screening at numerous international Festivals.

Sam made her TV drama debut on C4 with single drama, Call It A Night, written by Bronagh Taggart and starring Andrew Simpson, (Notes on A Scandal,) as part of the Coming Upseries. In 2017 / 2018 Sam directed on Holby City and was selected for the DUK, High End TV Drama Directors Programme, working on Call The Midwife, with Neal Street productions. She also was featured on the BBC Hot New Talent list. Sam has also directed several episodes of BBC Drama series Doctors.

Sam is currently developing several feature projects including: A sci-fi, black comedy, The Pod, with writer Melissa Iqbal; Psychological-thriller Orchestra as a writer-director and a magical love story, about people who can levitate in London, written by Line Langebek.

In recent years Sam has been selected for Guiding Lights and mentored by Academy Award winner Kevin MacDonald. She has also been part of Network EIFF working with Kate Leys and Peter Ettedgui and reached the final round of Microwave with Film London.

She is a graduate of the National Film and Television School, where she was awarded a scholarship from the David lean Foundation for her MA in Fiction Direction. Her graduation film Love Letters, was nominated for a Royal Television Society, Television Award.
