Mariam Bell

Writer

Mariam’s writing work includes ACTRESSES, historical drama series giving voice to the first women to work on the stage, co-written with Prasanna Puwanarajah and in development with UNIFIED. She is also developing IN THE WATER an original six part folklore-horror meets twisted love story, set in the Scottish Highlands.
Mariam trained at RADA, was selected for the BBC TV Drama Writers Programme and is currently developing several writing projects for TV and theatre.
Her work is evocative and immersive big story worlds, expansive and detailed ensemble storytelling exploring untold stories of women’s bravery, resilience and strength. She is passionate about exploring stories of neurodiversity in women.
