ISABELLA WALDRON
Isabella Waldron is a playwright and screenwriter from Portland, Oregon who works and lives in London.
Her work has been supported by Nottingham Playhouse, Southwark Playhouse, Camden People’s Theatre, Sewanee Writers Conference (Tennessee Williams Scholar), Omnibus Theatre, The Egg Theatre, the Peggy Ramsay Foundation & more. Her play Chatter was a semi-finalist for the 2024 George Devine award. Isabella’s plays have been nominated for the Offie’s Assessor’s Choice (The Watch), Critic’s Choice at the SF Chronicle (Matching), and as semi-finalists for the O’Neill National Playwrights’ Conference and the Bay Area Playwrights’ Foundation (Things I Never Told the Stars, Jawbone, Chatter, Half-Life).
She is an alumnus of MOXIE Arts Incubator (NYC) and a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. She is a current member of the Hampstead Theatre’s INSPIRE programme for emerging playwrights, led by Simon Stephens.
Her debut play, how to build a wax figure, sold out a run at the Pleasance in 2022 and fully premiered with Assembly at Edinburgh Fringe to excellent reviews and shortlisting for the BBC/Popcorn Award
Her plays are published by Methuen Drama.
