EmJay Bassett

Writer, director and producer EmJay Bassett began her career as part of the ‘new wave of British horror’ at the start of the millennium and has so far made nine feature films across multiple genres – including, horror, action, thriller and fantasy as well as directing some of the most viewed television in recent years.

Her feature credits include her first horror movie ‘DEATHWATCH’ with Andy Serkis, Jamie Bell and Matthew Rhys, the fantasy action adventure ‘SOLOMON KANE’ with James Purefoy, Max Von Sydow and Pete Postlethwaite, ‘SILENT HILL: REVELATION’ with Kit Harington, Adelaide Clemens and Sean Bean, and, most recently the remake of the classic fantasy character ‘RED SONJA’ released in 2025.

EmJay also directs extensively in television. She was executive producer, writer and director of the international hit TV military-action series ‘STRIKE BACK’ for HBO/Sky, co-exec producer, writer and director with Sam Raimi on ‘ASH VS EVIL DEAD’ TV show for Starz and has recently directed episodes of global hit shows ALTERED CARBON with Anthony Mackie, ’REACHER’ with Alan Ritchson, FUBAR with Arnold Schwarzenegger and ‘TERMINAL LIST’ with Chris Pratt and Taylor Kitsch.  She has recently wrapped NCIS:Tony and Ziva for Paramount+ and the Reacher spinoff show ‘NEAGLEY’ for Amazon/Skydance.
