Actress and screenwriter working in television and theatre. Michelle studied at LAMDA.
She has developed original TV drama projects for ITV, Warp Films, Working Title and Company Films.
Her short BLACK ROAD starring Michelle Collins won Best Short at the European Short Film Festival and won a Special Mention at the Delhi Short Festival. Her most recent short, STAND STILL, which she also starred in, was shown at the London Film Festival 2019.
She wrote an episode for series four of Malory Towers and is working on a new original drama script with Motive Pictures. That project tells the story of the British collapse of empire in Kenya and the British government’s shockingly violent attempts to keep the Kenyan rebellion at bay. Michelle draws on her own family history – her mum was born in Nairobi to Seychellois parents – and has written a searingly bold and ambitious indictment of Britain’s dark colonial past.
