Riz Moritz is a working-class, British-Indian Writer & Director from North West London.
Raised between the White working-class spaces of football hooliganism and her Indian aunties with no-filter, she developed her trademark dry humour and an eye for complex characters. Leaving school at 16, Riz worked in politics at the House of Commons, which provided her an early crash course in class, power and performance.
She wrote for ITV’s Coronation Street after being selected from over 600 applicants for the Original Voices Scheme. Riz wrote A Loud Piece of Armour which premiered at Palm Springs ShortFest 2025 with Oscar-nominated DOP Robbie Ryan and award-winning actress Jo Hartley.
Riz’s work explores themes of identity, womanhood, and the uncomfortable comedy of survival.
