Ed’s debut feature film, rap-battle drama VS. (BBC Films), world premiered at the 2018 London Film Festival and was released in cinemas nationwide by UK distributor Altitude. The film has since secured a Netflix deal and is now available in all English-speaking territories.
VS. received wide critical acclaim with a host of 4 & 5 ★ star reviews. Top UK film critic, Peter Bradshaw (Guardian), called it “A movie with flair and force”, Sight & Sound named it their ‘Film of the Week’ saying, “Lilly handles his characters’ torment and excitable hormonal states in thrilling and visceral ways” and Metro made it their ‘Big Release’ saying an “authentic and punchy watch”.
The cast is led by newcomer Connor Swindells (Sex Education) and includes Fola Evans-Akingbola (Siren), Joivan Wade (Doom Patrol), Ruth Sheen (Another Year), Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy) and acclaimed British battle-rapper Shotty Horroh making his big screen debut.

Subsequently, Ed was longlisted in the British Independent Film Awards “Debut Director” and “Debut Screenwriter” categories. In 2017, he was named as a Screen International “Star of Tomorrow” and included in the BBC “New Talent Hotlist”.

Previously, his short film THE HIVE (UK Film Council) was “Staff Picked” and nominated for a 2012 Vimeo Award.
