Faye Gilbert is a BAFTA nominated writer/director. Her graduation film from Bournemouth Film School DOG won the David Altshul award for Best Creative Filmmaking.  Two years later she was nominated for a BAFTA for her short film Perdie. This was followed by winning the Orange Film Four Prize for her next short film Hard Little Man and then a commission by Touchpaper for Channel 4 for the drama Sick as part of the ‘Coming Up’ series.

Faye’s latest BFI funded short film ‘The Line’ – set in an altered reality where a teenage girl is forced to smuggle a young boy across a dangerous border – was premiered at Palm Springs in summer 2014.

She recently shot her debut feature film, ‘Zero’, with Film London’s prestigious Microwave scheme, to be released 2019.

In 2011 Faye was also chosen to participate on the Guiding Lights mentoring programme where she was mentored by Danny Boyle and who supported in developing her feature film ‘Towrz’.

Alongside her drama work Faye has made over 40 short community films with young people living in deprived area as well as vulnerable young people, young people in care, with mental health issues and young offenders in prisons.  She has also produced and directed ‘Dispatches’ for Channel4 as well as many other broadcast documentaries filming across the world.
