Leonora received her M.F.A. from Tisch, NYU‘s prestigious graduate film program, which she attended on the W.T.C. Johnson scholarship.
Her latest short, “Beast”, was funded by the BFI & Creative England’s Emerging Talent scheme and starred Olivier-award winning Billie Piper. Her previous short films have been nominated for a Student Academy Award and received a Hollywood Foreign Press Association grant. Leo was also a co-writer/co-director on “Black Dog, Red Dog,” starring James Franco, Whoopi Goldberg and Olivia Wilde.
In 2016, she was selected as 1 of 12 finalists for the iFeatures scheme with “Ex Sanguis” a project she is developing with BAFTA-nominated writer Islay Bell-Webb & producers Chiara Ventura and Manon Ardisson (God’s Own Country). “Ex Sanguis” has just been selected as 1 of 8 projects to participate the Inside Out Film Finance pitch in Toronto.
Her documentary film, “Ziona”, about a cult in the Indian Himalayas, recently premiered at the American Documentary Film Festival in Palm Springs.
