Lorcan Finnegan is an award-winning film director from Ireland. He launched his career with the supernatural short film FOXES, which premiered at SXSW, was in competition at Tribeca and the BFI London Film Festival, and picked up an IFTA for Best Short. His first feature film, the folk horror WITHOUT NAME, starring Alan McKenna and Niamh Algar, premiered at TIFFin 2016. His second feature, the sci-fi thriller VIVARIUM, starring Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg, premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in Critics’ Week and won the Gan Foundation Award. His third film, NOCEBO, a psychological thriller starring Eva Green, Mark Strong and Chai Fonacier, was a Netflix hit that premiered at the Sitges Film Festival and played in competition at Gérardmer. THE SURFER, starring Nicolas Cage, is Lorcan’s fourth film and premiered in the Official Selection at the 77th Cannes Film Festival before being acquired by Lionsgate for theatrical distribution.
