Tipped as a future star on BBC’s 2017 hotlist, Lebanese filmmaker Nour Wazzi is currently directing on the exciting new sci-fi adventure show ‘The Last Bus’ for Netflix and Wildseed Studios. She’s previously directed a pilot for Wildseed’s techno-thriller series ‘The Moderators’ starring Yasmin Paige (‘The Double’) as well as two episodes of BBC3’s ‘The Break’.
Nour has over 15 years experience in the industry collaborating on award-winning films including the OSCAR nominated, Sundance winner ‘Waste Land’. With an extensive slate of genre film and TV projects, she has recently partnered with producers Hans Ritter (DC’s ‘Birds of Prey’, ‘Hard Candy’) and Mary Jane Skalski (‘American Animals’, ‘Mysterious Skin’) on her psychological thriller ‘Chimera’.
Her award-winning short filmography includes the Film London backed ‘Up On The Roof’ starring Maisie Williams (‘Game Of Thrones’) that premiered at LFF; ‘Shackled’ starring Emilia Clarke (‘Game Of Thrones’); ‘Habibti’ with Hiam Abbass (‘Blade Runner 2049’), Yasmine Al Massri (‘Quantico’) and Jimmy Akingbola (‘In The Long Run’); DFI-backed short thriller ‘Baby Mine’, starring Alexander Siddig (‘Game Of Thrones’); and sci-fi thriller ‘Lab Rat’.
Through BAFTA, she was mentored by Gareth Edwards (‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’) and via Directors UK shadowed on BBC/HBO’s fantasy series ‘His Dark Materials’, as well as being a resident Director at BAFTA Rocliffe. She is also currently a mentor for BEATS, a new ScreenSkills diversity scheme.
