Robert Jones

Over the course of more than 35 years Robert Jones’ career as a producer and executive in the international film and TV industry has been driven by a passion for identifying and nurturing new talent and a desire to tell stories that entertain and inform.

His vast experience encompasses everything from sourcing and creating ideas, script development, hands on physical production and project financing, distribution and rights acquisition, film and TV sales, commissioning for public bodies, strategic planning and education.

Formerly a professional music recording artist, Robert initially forged a reputation at Palace Pictures and PolyGram, acquiring such hits as When Harry Met Sally, Wild At Heart, Cinema Paradiso, Reservoir Dogs and Shallow Grave. His various other roles have included a successful five year tenure as Head of the UK Film Council’s Premiere Fund and President of the New Line/Entertainment owned production venture Material Entertainment.

In 2010 he co-founded the Fyzz Facility, building a company that produced and/or invested in over 200 films including Taylor Sheridan’s Academy Award nominated Wind River, streaming favourite Destination Wedding, BIFA winner The Survivalist, and US box office hit 47 Meters Down.
Robert has worked as a producer/executive producer with such luminaries as Paul Thomas Anderson, Jesse Armstrong, Stephen Frears, Dee Rees, Robert Altman, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Bryan Singer, Danny Boyle, Amma Asante, Stephen Knight, Sally El Hosaini, Julian Fellowes, Fernando Mereilles, Mike Leigh and David Schwimmer.

His producer credits include Academy Award™ winners The Usual Suspects, Gosford Park and The Constant Gardener as well as Hard Eight, Dirty Pretty Things and the acclaimed Channel 4/Sundance Channel TV series Babylon. He has several film and TV projects in development, regularly lectures at film and TV schools including the NFTS, La Fémis in Paris and Falmouth University and continues to seek out compelling stories and diamonds in the rough.
