Gerald McMorrow


Gerald’s debut short film ‘Thespian X’ won first prize at the Turner Classic Movies short film competition at the Regus London Film Festival 2002.


Gerald studied at the New York Film School (SCE) and has worked extensively in music promos directing high profile clips for artists such as Catatonia, The Longpigs, Ultrasound, Space, My Vitriol, Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews.


His career naturally progressed to commercials for agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, WCRS and DMB&B picking up awards from the Creative Circle and British Television Advertising Awards.


‘Franklyn’ – Gerald’s self-scripted debut feature was produced by Jeremy Thomas and Recorded Picture Company. It premiered at the 2008 London BFI Film Festival. Following the journeys of four seemingly unconnected individuals, ‘Franklyn’ takes us on a journey of the dysfunctional, the lost and the downright extraordinary.


‘Franklyn’ stars Ryan Phillipe, Eva Green and Sam Riley and was released in the UK in 2010 and was released in the US to great reviews in 2011.


Gerald is currently developing a new feature based on the novel ‘The Glamour’ by Christopher Priest, whose previous novel was turned into the feature ‘The Prestige’. Story Film have come on board.
