Jon Bradfield

Writer

Represented by:

Alec Drysdale

Jon is currently developing a TV project about the world of show jumping with 101 Studios and is adapting the novel Rake’s Progress about a drag queen spy in Nazi-occupied Europe.

His play ANIMAL was on the short list of 5 (from over 1500 submissions) for the Papatango Theatre Prize – Britain’s largest theatre prize. It also won the inaugural Through the Mill Playwriting Prize and was subsequently staged at the Hope Mill Theatre, the Bristol Tobacco Factory Theatre and The Park Theatre in 2023. The BBC commissioned a pilot script for him to adapt the play with Euston Films.

Jon wrote an episode of QUEERS, part of the series of monologues produced and directed by Mark Gatiss for the BBC. His episode, MISSING ALICE, was beautifully performed by Rebecca Front and was singled out for praise in the 5 stars reviews in the The Times and The Independent.

Jon also writes and composes the near-legendary Christmas Pantos for the Above the Stag Theatre.
