Following on from the success of the first series,  Steve is currently writing the second series of Vienna Blood (based on the best-selling Liebermann novels by Frank Tallis) with Endor Productions, and co-writing Leonardo with Frank Spotnitz. His feature film Fastnet is with Working Title.

Steve created the ITV drama ‘Jericho’, starring Jessica Raine and Hans Matheson, it depicted the untold story of the 1870’s Yorkshire Rail Workers.

He’s written episodes for all three series of the BAFTA winning BBC shows ‘Sherlock’, ‘Silk’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ and ‘Mutual Friends’ as well as the ITV show ‘The Whistleblowers’.

Steve is also an award winning playwright. His debut play ‘Damages’ ran to rave reviews and sell-out audiences at the Bush Theatre in summer 2004. It was awarded the Meyer Whitworth Award for 2005 (Arts Council Best New Play).

His second play ‘Whipping It Up’, directed by Terry Johnson and starring Richard Wilson premiered at the Bush Theatre in November 2007 and successfully transferred to the West End in Spring 2008 before embarking on a sell out UK tour. Whipping It Up received an Olivier Award nomination for Best New Comedy in 2007.

Steve’s play about the City ‘Roaring Trade’ (2009) broke the Soho Theatre’s box office records for highest ticket sales ever. His play ‘No Naughty Bits’ premiered at Hampstead Theatre in 2012.
