Dionne Edwards is a writer and director working in film and television. She is a Sundance alum and Screen International Star of Tomorrow. Her work has screened internationally, including at TIFF and LFF, and on platforms such as Cine+, Canal+, HBO, Netflix, Disney+ and The Criterion Channel. Her debut feature, Pretty Red Dress (BFI/BBC Film), premiered at the BFI London Film Festival to widespread acclaim and multiple award nominations, following her breakout short, We Love Moses, which won nine awards. She has feature projects in development with Riff Raff and Film4.
In television, she has served as a second-unit director on episodes of Netflix’s Top Boy (Season 1) and been part of the writing staff on The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself (Netflix). She has also directed episodes of A Thousand Blows (Hulu/Disney+), Everything Now (Netflix) and the star-studded Audible Original adaptation of Pride & Prejudice.
