As a screenwriter Alex has projects in development with director Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders & Black Mirror), producer Roberto Amoroso (Gomorrah), Double Dutch (Banijay UK), and actor Nick Frost. Alex is currently adapting James Wyllie’s LSD tale of the century THE MICRODOT GANG for Patrick Spence at Anonymous Content as well as adapting hit Scandinavian show KIDS IN CRIME into a pilot script for Channel 4. Alex is also a critically acclaimed, bestselling comic book writer. His original horror series PROCTOR VALLEY ROAD, co-written with comic book legend Grant Morrison, was Universal Studios’ first ever comic book release under their UCP Graphic imprint. Alex was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award in 2022 for his work on the series. Alex cut his teeth writing episodes of BBC One’s HOLBY CITY and has worked in writers’ rooms for TEMPLE, A TOWN CALLED MALICE and THE CAPTURE. In a former life Alex was a musician collaborating with Does It Offend You, Yeah? Example and Roots Manuva.
