Winner of the 2012 Cordelia award for Best British Screenplay with his first feature LIFE IN A BOX, Nick is now involved in a number of upcoming projects.
ARCANE for Riot Games is transforming one of the world’s largest games (over 100 million players a month) into a TV series with Oscar nominated director Ash Brannon. While Nick’s original screenplay STATE OF EMERGENCY, based in a 911 call centre during an infectious outbreak, has been set up with Black Label Media, the producers of Oscar nominated and winning films SICARIO and LA LA LAND.
Alongside this, Nick is working with Riverstone Pictures and directing trio KRSS on THE KILLING MOON, a small-town American horror based on one of Nick’s original ideas. He’s also writing THE WARNING, a blitz chase movie for Oscar nominated James Schamus, Symbolic Exchange and Parkville Pictures, with BAFTA nominated Leanne Welham directing.
Past projects include SUGAR for Film4 and RAW, a fast-paced political con-movie with BAFTA winning Otto Bathurst directing; Working Title’s sci-fi project THE HIVE; THE APPLE for BBC Films; PREVIOUS OCCUPANT for Archery Pictures and THE MERCENARY with director Seb Edwards.
Nick began his career on TV productions such as EASTENDERS and REV before moving into films like NANNY MCPHEE AND THE BIG BANG. Nick was successfully chosen out of thousands of applicants for the Working Title Action! Scheme and gained access to Britain’s largest production house.
After just eight months, Nick was offered a job in development where he flourished and learned from some of the best writers around the world. It was here that he wrote LIFE IN A BOX and once this won the 2012 Cordelia award, Nick stepped out of development and into his writing career.
