Sami Ibrahim was the winner of the inaugural Theatre Uncut Political Playwriting Prize with his debut play two Palestinians go dogging, which later ran at the Royal Court, to rave reviews. He was writer in residence at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, where his play Metamorphoses ran in 2021, and which opens shortly at the major US theatre Seattle Rep. In 2022, his play A Sudden Violent Burst of Rain ran as part of the Paines Plough roundabout season in Edinburgh, before transferring to the Gate theatre in London. He is under commission for new plays at the Almeida, Yard, Headlong, ETT and RSC. He was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize, and has been a writer on attachment at the National Theatre.

In TV he is writing projects for Chapter One and Expanded Media. He is under commission for his debut feature with BBC Films, and the A24 backed production company 2am (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies).
